Revisit these 7 attractions at Lalbagh flower show over the years

The year 2023 saw the 214th flower show in the capital city of Karnataka. The biannual flower show is observed during Republic Day and Independence Day at the famous tourist destination of Bengaluru- The Lalbagh Botanical Garden. Let me take you on the tour to revisit some of the best flower arts over the years.


1. Red Fort

A replica of Red Fort during Republic Day in 2015. It is said that a typical structure required 5 to 10 lakh flowers. Reports said that this replica was made of three lakh Dutch roses and was 50 by 40 feet wide and 28 feet tall. Isn’t this replica mesmerizing?

2. A tree house with giant ducks

Here’s a quack, there’s a quack, everywhere a quack quack? Look at this cute attraction of birdhouse and ducks during the 2007 flower show.

3. Sabarmathi Ashram

The theme of 2019 Republic Day was Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary. As a tribute to Gandhi, a replica of Sabarmathi Ashram was created with flowers that year.

4. Kavimane

A replica of Kavimane in 2017’s annual flower show. This was to mark the 50 years of the first Jnanapith Award (1967) to Rashtrakavi Kuvempu.

7. Eiffel Tower

This is when Eiffel Tower made a flowery appearance in Bengaluru and stole the limelight in 2013 flower show. News reports claimed the structure to be decorated with more than 2.5 lakh roses, and more than 10,000 orchids.
